Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the PIE web application, browser extension, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

PIE ("we", "our", "us") reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Ensuring that your account information is accurate and up to date

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used for unauthorized purposes.

4. Description of Service

PIE is a software-as-a-service platform that helps businesses discover organic lead generation opportunities by:

• Scanning publicly available social media platforms (including Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, StackExchange, and others) for posts where people discuss pain points relevant to your business
• Using artificial intelligence to score the relevance of discovered posts and generate draft responses
• Providing a leads pipeline to track engagement with potential customers
• Offering a browser extension that detects when you are viewing or replying to discovered posts
• Providing analytics dashboards to measure engagement and conversion metrics

PIE does not post content on your behalf. All replies to social media posts are composed and submitted by you, the user. PIE provides AI-generated draft suggestions to assist you, but you are solely responsible for the content you publish on any third-party platform.

5. Pricing, Billing & Subscriptions

Early Access

PIE is currently available as a free early access product. Early access users must request access and be approved before using the platform. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue the early access program at any time without notice.

Paid Plans

PIE may offer paid subscription plans in the future. Paid plans are billed on a recurring four-week billing cycle. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your designated payment method at the beginning of each billing cycle.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period. After the billing period ends, your subscription will not renew and your access to paid features will be discontinued.

Refunds

If you believe you are entitled to a refund, you must contact the PIE support team via our contact page. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. We are not obligated to provide refunds except where required by applicable law.

6. User Content & License

You retain ownership of all content you provide to the Service, including your business profile information, notes, and any text you compose using the platform ("User Content").

By using the Service, you grant PIE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purposes of:

• Operating and providing the Service to you
• Improving the functionality and quality of the Service
• Generating aggregated, anonymized analytics and insights

We do not use your User Content to train third-party artificial intelligence models. Your data is processed through AI services solely to deliver features of the Service to you (such as relevance scoring and draft generation), and we use API configurations that disable data retention by our AI providers.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk automated communications on any platform
• Engage in deceptive, misleading, or manipulative practices, including astroturfing, fake reviews, or impersonation
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse any individual or group
• Post or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures of the Service
• Use the Service to scrape, harvest, or collect data for purposes unrelated to the intended functionality of the platform
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or infrastructure
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy.

8. Anti-Spam Policy

PIE is designed to help businesses engage authentically with potential customers. The Service is not a tool for mass messaging, automated posting, or spam. You agree to the following:

• All replies you post using insights from PIE must be genuine, relevant, and helpful to the conversation
• You will not use PIE to post identical or substantially similar responses across multiple threads, communities, or platforms
• You will not use AI-generated drafts without reviewing and personalizing them for the specific conversation
• You will not use the Service to engage in any activity that would be classified as spam under the policies of the platforms you engage on
• You acknowledge that PIE provides draft suggestions only, and you bear sole responsibility for the content you choose to post

Violation of this Anti-Spam Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice or refund.

9. Third-Party Platform Compliance

PIE helps you discover and engage with content on third-party platforms such as Reddit, Hacker News, Bluesky, StackExchange, X, and others. You acknowledge and agree that:

• You are solely responsible for complying with the terms of service, community guidelines, and rules of any third-party platform you engage on while using PIE
• PIE is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the third-party platforms it integrates with
• PIE does not guarantee continued access to any third-party platform's data or APIs, which may change or become unavailable at any time
• You will not hold PIE liable for any consequences arising from your interactions on third-party platforms, including account suspensions, bans, or other penalties imposed by those platforms
• Social media posts discovered by PIE are publicly available content. PIE does not access private messages, non-public profiles, or restricted content

10. Browser Extension

The PIE browser extension for Google Chrome is an optional companion to the web application. By installing and using the extension, you agree that:

• The extension checks the URL of your active tab against known discoveries in your PIE dashboard to detect relevant pages
• The extension detects when you submit a reply on a supported platform and reports the reply content back to PIE to create a lead in your pipeline
• The extension does not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or personal data beyond the active tab URL and reply content on matched pages
• You are responsible for managing your extension authentication token, which can be generated and revoked from your Settings page
• The extension requires the "storage" and "activeTab" browser permissions to function

11. AI-Generated Content

PIE uses artificial intelligence to generate relevance scores, draft responses, follow-up suggestions, and sentiment analysis. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content is provided as a suggestion only and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI-generated content before using it
• PIE does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of any AI-generated content
• AI relevance scores are estimates and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for business decisions
• PIE is not liable for any consequences arising from your use of AI-generated content, including but not limited to reputational harm, loss of business, or violations of third-party platform rules

12. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, branding, logos, and documentation, is owned by PIE and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited right to use it in accordance with these Terms.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your data. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.

PIE does not warrant that:

• The Service will be available at all times or without interruption
• The Service will be free of errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities
• The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate, reliable, or complete
• Any defects in the Service will be corrected in a timely manner
• The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations

You use the Service at your own risk. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, data accuracy, or the availability of third-party platform integrations.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PIE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL PIE'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO PIE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (US $100.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PIE and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including third-party platform terms of service
• Any content you post or submit through or in connection with the Service
• Your negligent or wrongful conduct

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to, violations of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or the Anti-Spam Policy.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us through our contact page. Upon termination:

• If you have an active paid subscription, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period
• Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days of account termination, except for anonymized analytics data which may be retained indefinitely
• Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including Sections 6, 14, 15, 16, and 19

18. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.

19. General Provisions

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PIE regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.

Waiver

The failure of PIE to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by PIE.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. PIE may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
